Consultation and Design Process


 S tep 1 – Set up a consultation with our cake designer by sending a request to The consultation is for an hour where you will meet with the cake designer to design your cake, and you can also try up to five flavors. Let us know your choice of flavors with your request about the consultation. There is a $25.00 charge for the consultation that will be applied toward the cost of your cake when you order the cake,

Step 2 – Prepare and bring as much information about your wedding with you as possible. Information such as colors, wedding invitations, type of flowers, etc. If you like a certain cake design from a magazine or the internet, bring it with you.

Step 3 – After the consultation, we will send you a contract with a detailed estimate of the cost of the cake, including a delivery and setup charge . Equipment rental or equipment deposit may be applicable. A sketch of the cake design will be also included.

Step 4 – Once you are in agreement with the contract, you will send us the signed contract by mail or scanned and sent by email along with the 50% deposit that is required to hold the wedding date. Please note that the wedding date is not guaranteed until the 50% deposit and signed contract is received. The final payment is required no later than two weeks prior to the wedding date.

Periodically we host group tastings at our cake boutique where our Couples sample flavors that are out of season. There is the Spring/Summer and the Winter/Fall Tasting. Our couples can personally meet the team who will work on their cake, try the flavors of cupcakes that are more popular at the time of their wedding. We will answer the most common questions that our couples ask. The tastings last 1 hour and are free of charge. The date and time will be announced on Facebook. Cake Flavors, Icing and Fillings

We can create a simple or the most aesthetic & modern cake design using only the finest ingredients on the market. Our professional culinary experts will help you create the most delicious cake for your special occasion.

Popular Cake flavors include:

Vanilla, Chocolate, Carrot, Red Velvet, Spice , Banana, Almond, Coconut, Cherry Chip , Orange, Pumpkin, Caramel, Lemon Blueberry, Lemon Poppyseed, Pineapple, Maple and other

We ice every cake with a smooth decorating buttercream and can cover them with fondant.

Our cakes have three layers of the cake and two layers of filling. We fill the cake with fluffy and flavorful European style buttercream that is very close to mousse. The filling flavors are:

Vanilla Bean, Chocolate, Mocha, Mint, Lemon, Lime, Oreo Cookie, Caramel, Orange, Pineapple, Coconut Cream, Cherry Chip, Almond, Raspberry, Strawberry, Mango, Banana Cream, Vanilla and Chocolate Cream Cheese and other.

Our buttercream can be combined with fruit fillings, fresh fruits or chocolate ganache.


After you select a sketch and pick your flavors for the cake, the wedding cake order can be finalized. At this point, you will need to sign a contract with us and make a payment of 50% of the entire order. With this payment, you reserve your wedding date. The balance must be paid no later than two weeks before the wedding day.

Cake Sizes and Pricing

Our wedding cakes are priced by serving:

The starting price for round cakes Iced with white buttercream is $2.50 per serving and $3.00 per serving for tiered cakes. For covered with fondant cakes the price starts at $3.50 per serving and $4.00 per serving for tiered cakes. Adding colors to any cake is an additional $1.00 per serving per color. Also, any shape other than round start at an additional $1.00 per serving for any cake whether fondant or buttercream

These base prices include 2 cake flavors and 2 fillings, as well as simple piped designs such as Swiss dots or free hand scrolls.

Upgrades in flavors and design are available for an additional price. The most common upgrades are fondant embossing, cut outs, bows, stenciling, brush and airbrush painting, flower decorations, fabric ribbon, rhinestone jewelry, tiered cake structure, texturing, piping, carving, cake shapes etc.

The serving size is 1” x 2” x 4”.

6″ round cake – anniversary cake

8″ round cake (15 servings) 9” round cake (20 servings)

10″ round cake (35 servings)

12″ round or 10″ square cake (50 servings)

14″ round or 12″ square cake (75 servings)

Half sheet cake (50 servings)

Full sheet cake (100 servings)

Equipment Deposit

If Sweet Discoveries’s supplies or equipment are used, a refundable deposit is required. Returnable items include: cake and cupcake stands.

If all equipment is returned in good condition, the deposit will be returned.

Delivery and Set Up

Your wedding cake will be delivered to your wedding location on time and set up to your specifications. The delivery charge will depend upon the traveling distance from our studio.
